| 31-08-2009: With deep sorrow we are to inform that Comrade Welldone Kharmawphlang Has left for his heavenly abode on 31/08/2009. He was working as SDE (TX) under DE (OPN) Jowai, The Funeral will take place on the 02-09-2009. He left behind him his wife and two daughters, and Our Condolences is with the bereaved family. |

23-07-2009 :(Cliping of the CHQ news)----It is reliably understood that the BSNL's profit for 2008-09 is Rs. 576 Crores instead of Rs.104 crores. However the erosion in the net profit is alarming especially in landline sector. We are pursuing with the Management to post more Executives in the revenue generating areas such as field units, sales &marketing etc instead of offices. Focus has to be given to rural areas where more potential is there. In continuation, Meghalaya SSA is in a grim situation, Comrades are requested to post their comments by email to snea.ne1@gmail.com. May be this is the final wake up call.
09-07-2009: Pressure Generation by SNEA(I) has made GMTD,Shillong to modify the previous order of T&P to our satisfaction. Comrades who has completed their tenure will be release on the 14-07-2009.
06-07-2009: The Executive body of SNEA, Shillong Division cordially thank all the Comrades and their Team Leaders for their Wonderful support and Dedicated work done by them to make this CWC meet sucessful, Com General Secretary G.L.Jogi had commended the effort as great job done. Further we would like to thank the the Staff and Management of Hotel Orchid, Students and Faculty Members of IHM Shillong and Our BSNL IQ Staff ,who has shown immense hospitality to our Guest Delegates. And Finally our Special Thanks to all the Comrades who had come here from all over the Country to make this event a Great Success.
01-07-2009: A strong contingent of 25 Comrades today march to GMTD Meghalaya SSA who has down played our demand and subsequently on the intervention of GM(D) Meghalaya,time has been given upto Tuesday (7/7/09)to
solve our issues favourably. Comrades be ready for further action if things goes the other way.

19th December '08:- Dear Comrades, the Rally on 22.12.08 & indefinite strike from 23.12.08 stand postponed. - CS, SNEA(I).
15th December '08:- All members of United Forum of BSNL Executives have exercise their option for repatriation to DOT and the same has been sent to Secretary, DOT and CHQ.
12th December '08:- United Forum of BSNL Executives in today's meeting at L/M Dormitory, Shillong, decided to follow the directives of CHQ regarding the indefinite strike call from 23rd December, 2008.
8th December '08:- Dharna was carried out successfully in front of CGMT Office,NE-I Circle, Shillong. The CS, AIBSNLEA & Circle President, SNEA (I), NE-I Circle, gave details about the activities at CHQ Level, further, following the directives of CHQ Leaders, it was decided that all executives of BSNL are requested to re-exercise their option for DOT only as the DOT has already extended the dated of option up to 15.12.2008. All Executives of BSNL are requested to fill up the fresh option form (Total 3 copies) and submit the same to their respective Divisional Secretary. Also it was decided that a United Forum meeting will be held on 12.12.2008 at 1700 Hrs at the L/M Dormitory, Shillong.
8th November '08:- The 2nd Divisional Conference of SNEA (I), Meghalaya Division was held in the "Recreation Hall", Top Floor, Old Telephone Exchange Building, Shillong, in a Grand and Successful manner. 22nd October '08:- Circle President Com. S. Chakravarty, Circle Secretary Com. P.S. Bhattacharya along with Circle Office Bearers had a fruitful meeting with CGMT, NE-I Circle, Shri. Vinod Kumar, regarding development issues.
21st October '08:- The 2nd Divisional Conference of SNEA (I), Meghalaya Division, will be held on the 8th of November, 2008 at the "Recreation Hall", Top Floor, Old Telephone Exchange Building, Shillong from 0930 Hrs.
All Comrades are requested to clear their dues if any and are also requested to attend the Divisional Conference positively.

23rd Sept '08- 2nd Joint Circle Conferences of NE-I and NE-II was held at Agartala on 20th and 21st Sept.,2008, in the most spectacular manner, NE-I and NE-II held joint Circle conferences at Agartala on 20th and 21st Sept.,2008.
On 20th Sept, an absorbing interactive session of the Joint forum, presided over by Com M.K.Bhattacharjee, Convenor Joint forum NE I and CS/AIBSNL EA, in which issues relating to growth and viability of BSNL were extensively discussed. GS/SNEA(I) gave detailed account of some crucial policy developments. The session was also addressed by Com. Swapan Chakraborty, AGS and CS/BSNLEU NEI. Com. P.C.Aine, DS/FNTO Tripura, Com T. Chaudhury, DS/BSNLEU Tripura and Com S.C.Debnath DS/AIBSNLEA also attended the session.
On the evening of 20th Sept, a glittering and thoroughly businesslike open session in which his Excellency, the Hon’ble Governor of Tripura State, Sh. D.N.Sahaya, was the chief guest. The open session was addressed by GS/SNEA(I), Sh R.Ramesh, CGMT/NE-I, Sh. B.K.Biswas GM(D), Sh. V. Munindranath, GMTD Tripura, Com Madhusudan Mahato, Jt Secy/E and Hon’ble Governor, Sh. D.N.Sahay. Hon’ble Governor who stayed for the entire open session, in his address, clearly and categorically endorsed the views of GS/SNEA(I) that while BSNL is committed to all round growth of Telecom Services throughout the Country, private operators have no such obligation and their primary consideration is to earn profits. Key note address of the open session was given by Com Dinesh Singh, CS/NE-II and vote of thanks by Com Surajit Chakraborty, CS/NE-I.
The joint delegate session which was presided over by Com Tapas Bhatacharjee in the morning of 21st sept.,2008, was addressed by GS/SNEA(I) and Jt Secy(E). GS gave a very detailed account of all the developments at the Central level. An absorbing and fruitful delegate interactive session was held.
Com Surajit Chakraborty, Com P.S.Bhattacharjee and Com Apangshu Debnath were unanimously elected as Circle president, Secretary and Treasurer of NE-I Circle respectively.
